Melafrique (band)
Melafrique is a 6 piece Afro-fusion band from Edmonton, Canada. The name Melafrique means "melanin from Africa"[1]. The band was co-founded in August 2016 by Kenyan bassist Leshan Masikonte, Nigerian vocalist Riwo Egor and Angolan pianist and producer Aristoteles Canga. At the time, the three of them were international students at the University of Alberta. The current members include the aforementioned co-founders, Ghanian guitarist and producer Enoch Attey, Nigerian vocalist (and digital artist) Adanna Onuekwusi and Jamaican drummer Steven Atkins.
The band released it's debut single Not Alone[2], on May 8th 2020.
