  • I chose this article because I was unfamiliar with Ellen Prince and I wanted to gather more information about this individual and her relations to pragmatics.

Lead

Guiding questions

• Does the Lead include an introductory sentence that concisely and clearly describes the article's topic?

Lead evaluation

The Lead starts of with a brief evaluation of who Ellen Prince was, including when she was born and when she died. It also does give insist to what exactly her relations was to pragmatics and field of work. It is not too long and straight to the point, and also gives insist to a few points of her work.

Content evaluation

The articles content is also very consistent and gives a lot of information to the main aspects of Ellen Princes life, including her work study, publications, interests, etc. Everything seems updated and no unneccesary content.

• Are there viewpoints that are over represented, or underrepresented?

Tone and balance evaluation

Tone and balance is very neutral and no conflicting or favoring is present. Since this article is more of a biography of Ellen Prince there is no stand point to a certain argument and or topic.

The links and resources do work and they do back up the information given in the content. References are available and there are external links that relate more an go further into depth about different information in the article.

Organization

• Does the article have any grammatical or spelling errors?
• Is the article well-organized - i.e. broken down into sections that reflect the major points of the topic?

Organization evaluation

Organization is very neat and the flow of the article is also great. The sentence link to one another and support each other to overall highlight and emphasize the point of the article.

Images and Media

Guiding questions

• Does the article include images that enhance understanding of the topic?
• Are images well-captioned?
• Do all images adhere to Wikipedia's copyright regulations?
• Are the images laid out in a visually appealing way?

Checking the talk page

Guiding questions

This article is apart of two WikiProjects including Biography and Women, and it rated Start-Class on both scales. There is not much conversation present on the Talk Page but it does have a question referring to how Ellen Prince died.

Overall evaluation

This article was very precise and well organized in my opinion. It was well developed and went into good detail about Ellen Prince's work background relating to Pragmatics. The only thing I would say I would improve or add, is that I think it should have included more detail into her life before school and pragmatics to get an inside to her lifestyle to see how she developed a love for the field of Pragmatics.
