Greg Hosharian (born Gregory Onik Hosharian; March 9, 1977) is an American composer, pianist, and conductor of Armenian descent.
Childhood and early life
editHosharian was born and raised in Montebello, California and attended Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. His parents are the late Edward Hosharian (a conductor, pianist, composer, and high-school teacher) and Catherine Hosharian (née Alekian, a high-school teacher).[1] He has two older siblings: brother Peter and sister Tania. Peter, a clarinetist, performs with Greg in Hosharian Brothers Band.
Education and Work
editHosharian received his bachelor's degree from California College of the Arts and his master's degree from California State University, Northridge. He co-founded the bands Vendetta, Hosharian Brothers Band, and Armenian Space Station; and he was the keyboardist for Redemption from 2008 to 2017.
Since 2010, Hosharian has conducted the Armenian Pops Orchestra in three Los Angeles-area concerts (2010, 2014[2], and 2016[3]) to raise money for the Edward Hosharian Scholarship Fund, which provides financial to music students of Armenian descent. He has also particpated
