scholarship.ng
scholarship.ng is Nigeria's First and only Student Financial Aid Services Organisation. They are a Social Intervention Services Organisation.
Their Vision: To become Africa’s Dominant Student Financial Aid Organization
Their Mission Statement: To terminate illiteracy in Africa Student Financial Aid Services
They already have a Vision 2019: To send 19,000 kids to school by December 19th, 2019.
The Problem:
1.) Nigeria has been named the Official Illiteracy Headquarters of the World by UNESCO[1] with 15 million children who are below the age of 15 years that have never been to school before or have dropped out of school, yet Nigeria is the Richest and most populous black nation on earth.
2.) In 2018, 1.66 million students all over Nigeria wrote the only Tertiary Matriculation Examination available in the country. It is called the UTME and it is conducted by the Federal Government. But the truth is that no matter how many people pass the exam, only 470,000 out of 1.66 million students will be admitted into Tertiary Institutions across the country if and Only if all of the 68 Private Universities out of the 152 Universities in Nigeria admit to the full capacity of 3,000 each.
So, the problem is that after the public universities have been quickly filled up because they are next to free by charging tuition of about 100 dollars, the remaining students’ majority of whom are a little shy of being poor are not able to afford Private University Education unaided. So you see 98% of Private Universities admitting between 100 and 200 students resulting in a shortfall of over 100,000 unadmitted students out of the Nation’s full admission capacity of 470,000.
Solution:
Their Solution is Private Sector driven Student Financial Aid Services.
You may have heard of FAFSA, and Sallie Mae in the U.S, SLC in the U.K, and OSAP in Ontario, Canada.
Well get ready as Nigeria finally has her own First and Only Student Financial Aid Organisation, it is simply known as scholarship.ng
Their Student Financial Aid Service is trying to at least put the over 100,000 annual shortfalls into School before we go back to consider the huge problem of how the remainder of 1.2 million students will get matriculated every year. What they do is offer Massive discounts to students plus an option of a study loan which allows students to pay back in monthly installments.
They seem to be the only Corporate in Nigeria that has not only noticed this massive and sad problem but have also noticed the massive opportunity it presents.
Their Approach: Every Eligible Student gets awarded a minimum of between 20% and 30% Scholarship in the form of Discounts.
Scholarship.Ng’s Products:
1.) Study Loan
2.) Work-Study
1.) Study Loans: After receiving a Scholarship Discount of 20% to 30% to any of their Partner Universities, the student can pick up a Study Loan to pay the remaining 70% to 80% of School Fees. You will simply pay back monthly in 3, 6, 9, or 12 months.
2.) Work-Study: After receiving a Scholarship Discount of 20% to 30% to any of their Partner Universities, this Product allows the student to work and study by selling scholarship.ng's Scholarship Offers to interested members of the Public. In return, the student gets More Discount Scholarships for each student that registers through him/her. For each student that registers through you as a student and goes ahead to pay the minimum down payment of 20% of Total School Fees, you will receive N10,000 Scholarship on top of the between 20% – 30% Scholarship.
This for Example means that if one of their Partner University’s School Fees is N150,000, and you select to attend that Particular Partner University, and then 9 students register through you, and each pays the minimum down payment of 20% of Total School Fees for whichever of scholarship.ng Partner Universities that they select, you get to receive N90,000 Discount Scholarship plus minimum of N30,000 which represents the initial Discount Scholarship on Total School Fees of between 20%-30%, Since you will be paying a minimum of N30,000 representing the 20% minimum down payment on Total School Fees, It means you have received a whopping 80% Discount Scholarship on Total School Fees.
3.) Study Loan/Work Study Combo: This Product allows you to combine all the Work-Study Product Features with all the Study Loan Product Features after receiving their Custom Scholarship Discount of 20% to 30% to any of their Partner Universities. It means you can get People to register through you into the Program in order to earn Discount Scholarships that will pay part of the Total School Fees, then you go ahead to pick up a Study Loan to pay up the remaining part of the Total School Fees.
This means that the amount you will be paying back to them monthly will be lesser than the amount that someone who took up only the Study Loan will be paying back.
