You deleted my article!
editI understand that often, one can feel personally upset when an article they have invested a large amount of time and effort into suddenly turns up deleted. Please understand that this is usually not a reflection on you as an editor!
There are many reasons that an article might be deleted. Before you address the topic on my talk page, please check the article history to see why it was deleted. Usually, you will find either a link to a discussion page or a link to a speedy deletion category. In the case of the former, please make sure you have read the discussion and my closing statement to familiarize yourself with my justifications for the deletion. If it was a speedy deletion, please check the category so you are familiar with the reasons.
If you have done all that and still feel strongly that the article should not have been deleted, please leave me a comment on my talk page and I will be happy to discuss it. Please be specific and give me a link to the deleted article, it makes it a lot easier for me to find it and what you are talking about.
You blocked my account!
editChances are if I blocked your account it was due to a violation of our username policy. I generally try to include a short summary of why the name was blocked on your talk page after the block has been performed.
Bear in mind that these kinds of blocks are not intended to keep you from editing Wikipedia and they are certainly nothing personal! Most blocks due to invalid user names are because the name you picked was promotional, in that it is the name of a company or a group. We cannot use our accounts for any kind of advocacy purposes on Wikipedia, regardless of how benign it seems.
Chances are all you need to do is request a new user name. If you are a brand new editor, it's probably easiest to just create a new account at Special:UserLogin. If you have been making some edits and would like to retain your account under a new name, you can be unblocked and request your account name be changed. Simply add "{{unblock|RequestedName}}" (be sure to change RequestedName to one that you would like) to your own talk page and an administrator will handle your request, or you can email me for help.
If you feel that your name is not in violation of our policy, feel free to email me by clicking here and I will try my best to help you.
