Lok Sin Tong Leung Kau Kui College(Mandarin :樂善堂梁銶琚書院, abbreviated as LSTLKKC) is a coeducational, government-aided sixth form college located in Hong Kong, China.
The school was founded in 1991, though it was originally called Lok Sin Tong Leung Qiu Ju College and was located in the West Road mountains. The Hospital Road site, where the college is currently located, was formerly occupied by the Yucai and Liang Wenyan secondary schools, Ms. Dawson Middle School, and the Kennedy Town Government Secondary School.
Development
editThe college was built in the Central and Western administrative district where there were large number of famous traditional schools such as King's College, St. Paul's Co-educational College and others. Into 2000, due to the teaching standard and students‘ level in traditional schools in the Western part of were under standard, also with the reformation of education system, Lok Sin Tong Leung Qiu Ju College began to prepare for a higher ranking place in the Banding system in recent years. The school has been increasingly successful, and absorb many new students in the meantime. On the facet of recruiting "restudy" students from Secondary 5, many students with a final mark lower than 14 points came to the college and retook courses. [1]
In recent years, many students from traditional elite schools who receive final grade of 14 points but a rest ill not admit by their original schools come to Lok Sin Tong Leuong Kau Kui College to attend university prep school. In addition, the college allowed students with grade of 18 points or more to transfer from Science major to Business major, which attract many student from traditional elite schools with the interests in Business to come and enroll the college. Thanks to the policy that attracts students from other schools, from 2000 till today, the results of university entrance examination each year often make a breakthrough. One of the transfer students failed with Sciences at school originally, but got a proud achievement with Liberal Arts in the university entrance examination. The original school students and transfer students from traditional elite schools are combined in the college, allowing it to create a pleasant and positive learning environment. In recent years, the majority of transfer students are from Sacred Heart Canossian College, St. category Andean School, and St. Stephen's School.
