editI first began a connection with the Blackpool Tower Circus in the early 1950's. I was taken as a child to see Charlie Cairoli and Paul (Freeman)[[1]][[2]] and at the time George Lockhart was still Ringmaster! At the time the Tower Circus with Charlie Cairoli and Paul, animal acts, lion cages being erected during the interval and the sinking ring to provide the water finale was considered the premiere circus venue at a time when Billy Smart's Circus [[3]], Bertram Mills and Roberts Brother's Circus[[4]] were still touring normally.
