Sinama-Webmaster
editBiographical Information
editMy name is Luke. I am a student of languages in the Philippines. I am studying my third Filipino language currently, the Central Sama (sml) language which is spoken by Muslims in the Siasi and Pandami island groups of Sulu as well as by the Sama diaspora and Bajau (sometimes known as Badjao, Badjaw, Sea Gypsies). I plan on my linguistic and charity work among the Sama to be my lifework. I am married to a Sama girl from Siasi. For my first year (probably several years) of language learning we are living in a Sama community. My only current focus outside of my language and culture learning is to develop the website Sinama.org as an Online Sinama Language Community to promote and advance the language Central Sinama.
Wikipedia Contributions
editMy current plans for contribution to Wikipedia are related to the Sama-Badjaw Languages, the Sama themselves, the Bajau, and the Samal (a confusing name used often to identify the Sama by outsiders). There is much confusion about these terms.
