My name is Si Yang. I am a first-year graduate student of MSIS program specializing in Big Data Analytics at University of Pittsburgh. I have already gotten a M.D. of Drug Design at Duquesne University. During my graduate research on designing targeted antifolates for chemotherapy, I got surprised on the importance of Big Data on drug development. Since then, I have developed a strong interest in learning Data Analytics to screen better candidate pools for targeted anticancer drugs by building more accurate and efficient databases and statistical models .
For my career goal, I would like to take advantages of Data Analytics to design better drugs with lower toxicity and higher selectivity. In my graduate study in MSIS program at University of Pittsburgh, I will fulfill myself with essential skills for data organization, data analysis and data presentation.
