I am fierecely committed to the Sharks, definitely. So much is that I created a wikipedia username and subpage about the Sharks!
I love its "history". It dates from the Oakland Seals, founded in 1967 as one of the first expansion teams of NHL. They moved to Cleveland in 1976 as Cleveland Barons and merged with the Minneasota North Stars (the present Dallas Stars) 2 years after. Luckily Gordon Gund got the permission of the NHL to dissolve the merger earlier in May 1990. They started to play in 1991.
Once the Sharks sold the most NHL jerseys ever, in 1991. They had popularised teal as a colour for sports teams.
The Sharks has its struggles and truimphs. Just in this season alone, it is on the brink of another out-of-playoffs losing season, but it improved tremendously to bag one Rocket Richard Trophy (awarded to Jonathan Cheechoo in the 2005-06 NHL season) and the 5th seed of the Western Conference. It continued its winning form against the Nashville Predators but unfortunately it lost to the Edmonton Oilers. Sigh...
It's okay, there is always the next season to try again. Stanley Cup is not far ahead for us Sharks!
A thing to note: I contribute from a HP Pavilion computer --- my computer's model shares the same name with the Sharks' home due to corporate name by HP!
A lot of information comes from the San Jose Sharks page.
