Stamping out Anti-Roman Catholicism by certain Wikipedia users.
Aim
editHaving been a keen browser on Wikipedia for the past 2 years, I have noticed that there appears to be (for some reason) a grudge against Roman Catholics by certain Wikipedia users. A good example of this would be my recent editing of Anna Nicole Smith in which I placed a reliable cited edit stating that Anna Nicole was a Roman Catholic convert. To my surprise, a certain Wikipedian (who will remain nameless) removed this edit. I placed the edit back up and once agin it was removed. This user had stated that this edit was "of no importance". Similar edits had been removed from Nicole Scherzinger, JoJo and Leonardo DiCaprio. All of which had reliable references.
My aim is to stop this childish behaviour from happening. And for the record, I am not the only Wikipedian that has noticed this.
Deletion of Category:Roman Catholic musicians
editIn February 2007, a fellow Wikipedian nominated Category:Roman Catholic musicians for deletion. To my surprise this motion was passed by 12 votes to 9. WHY??
No other similar categories have been deleted
- Jewish American musicians
- Jewish singers
- Jewish musicians
- Muslim musicians
- Hindu musicians
- Buddist musicians
So why Roman Catholics? Also followed was the deletion of Roman Catholic entertainers, Roman Catholic comedians, Roman Catholic journalists.
