Steven Kirk (born January 18, 1961 in Syracuse, New York) is an American actor and television personality, as well as screenwriter, director.


Film

Kirk and Dennis Willis wrote and directed Unwrapped (2006), an acclaimed indie short about exploitation in the Internet age; and have collaborated on several screenplays they plan to direct. Their 2006 short documentary The Life and Legacy of George Reeves was released on DVD through VCI Entertainment in December, 2006.

They own and operate Capricorn Entertainment and have collaborated for over 20 years.


Movies & TV

Kirk is a self-professed "Renaissance-Man-In-Training" who has enjoyed a long history in the performing arts (film, television, theater, commercials, music video, voice over & celebrity look-a-like), as well as being a graphic and wax artist. A member of the Screen Actors Guild, he has appeared in motion pictures such as Catch Me If You Can and Chaplin; television shows like Wings and The Preston Episodes and national commercial ads for Little Caesar's, Universal Studios Hollywood and Panasonic 3DO to name a few.

In 2008, Kirk completed the final season as host and co-executive producer of Soundwaves, a Bay Area-based music entertainment show that left the airwaves after a record-setting 25 years. Kirk joined the show in 1985.

He also served as the Hollywood Correspondent for two film-based shows, Reel Life (1993 TV Series) and FilmTrip (1997-98), which aired in the Bay Area.


Celebrity Impersonator

Kirk is a successful Celebrity Impersonator, portraying Charlie Chaplin, Austin Powers, Groucho Marx and Beetlejuice for media events, private parties and corporate events all around Southern California. He has also appeared in character in films produced at the American Film Institute, instructional videos, print work and commercials and television programs such as NBC's Today Show.

Rod Blagojevich

Kirk is considered to bear a strong resemblance to embattled Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich. In January, 2009, following Blagojevich's arrested on federal corruption charges, Kirk appeared in a series of popular parody video blogs, called "BLOG-ojevich" on the website Artists-In-Exile.

Hollywood Memorabilia Collector

Kirk's love of Hollywood led him into collecting and preserving some of its history. Some favorites from his collection include a cape worn by Christopher Reeve in Superman, the "stars and stripes" boxing trunks from Rocky V and the Vorgon alien costume from an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. He owns and operates a wax figure/prop/costume production company named Ditto Productions.

He was also curator and Media Spokesman for the Hollywood Wax Museum and Hollywood Guinness World Of Records Exhibition for five years, appearing in countless segments seen on E! Entertainment Television, Entertainment Tonight and CNN.


Fundraising

Since 1989, Kirk and Dennis Willis have produced and hosted the annual Soundwaves Christmas Party, a food, clothing and toy drive to benefit local Bay Area neighborhoods and noteworthy national non-profit organizations.
