BIOGRAPHY
editAbout me
editI'm a freshman in college, living in the Pacific Northwest. My free time is filled with cleaning, drawing, and crocheting. My favorite thing to crochet are market bags, drawstring bags and amigurumi for my family members as birthday gifts. Some things that me me unique: I am the oldest of eight, I speak English as well as little bits of Spanish and German, and I am learning American Sign Language. It is believed that ASL did not come from one person or a committee, but took roughly 200 years intermixing with spoken langue and French sign language.[1]
My Wikipedia activities
editI have not yet involved myself in Wikipedia other than looking into subjects. My goal however is to be more proactive in helping making sure information is correct. I will try to help out on subjects I am aware of, while if it a topic I know little of I will just make sure grammar is correct.
Article Evaluation
editSince 2012, I have been listening to 3OH!3. Having spent my childhood in Colorado, I always heard about my local bands. The group that had once been talked about by everyone, grew quiet. In August of 2021 the band released their album, Need, and I wanted to know more about what they've been doing. I visited the 3OH!3 article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: the article's age, its completion, and lack of working citations.
Age
editWhile I was reading the article, I noticed it was a little outdated. The last album they have information on is Night Sports, which came out in 2016. With that being said, I know they have released more music since then. The article also leaves off with a tweet made by the band's account, announcing a new album to be released later in the year 2021. the tweet[2] was posted on January 1st, 2021.
Completion
editThis page also seems to be missing important things that the band has done. The biggest thing they are missing is the latest album the band has done. Their latest albums, Need[3] and Lonely Machines[4], has yet to have its own article made and be added to the band's article. 3Oh!3 has also attended a handful of tours, the latest being on October 1st, 2022 in Anchorage, Alaska.[5]
Citation
editLastly, I noticed a lot of dead links, or archives that didn't exist anymore. When clicking on some of the reference links, they lead to other sites that are not said to be. If some of the links are unnecessary, they can be removed or replaced with references that work.
conclusion
editOverall, I would say this article needs some work. All of the information up to 2018 is relevant and unbiased. While the progress on the page is good, it has been a year since the latest album's release so there should be those pages up by now or soon if people are truly invested in this group. Finally, citations need to have a lot of work put into them and kept up.
