I have a wide range of interests but only a limited amount of time to indulge in the writing or editing of Wikipedia entries. However, I think it's only fair to correct errors when I see them, or broaden deficient or lacking text passages for purposes of improved clarity and/or accuracy.
I believe a high level of direct knowledge, or proper research utilizing multiple sources, should be possessed before editing Wikipedia content. I see too many Wikipedia contributors adding or modifying content when they do not possess adequate knowledge on the subject to make changes that are factually correct, or sufficiently verified. Utilization of such practices may also be seen as advocating standards common to traditional American journalism for accuracy.
