The 2022 Capital Football season was the 69th season in Capital Football. The season commenced 2 April 2022.[1]
This season saw the rebranding of the NPL ACT 2 to be named the Capital Premier League.[2]

NPL ACT is the ACT's highest senior men's division. Canberra Croatia were the Premiers, Monaro Panthers were champions at the end of the NPL ACT Finals series while Belconnen United were relegated to Capital Premier League for the 2023 season.

This was the 59th edition of the Capital Football Federation Cup, which also served as the preliminary rounds for the Australia Cup in the ACT.
Monaro Panthers were the Cup winner, entering the Australia Cup at the round of 32. Entry to the competition was staggered, with NPL1 clubs entering the tournament in a later round.
2022 Men's Charity Shield
editThe annual ACT Charity Shield kicked off the 2022 Capital Football season. Money raised from the event went towards the Fortem Australia charity.[4] The match was a replay of the 2021 Capital Football Federation Cup Final between Tigers FC and Monaro Panthers.

2022 was the fifth season of NPLW, the highest tier domestic football competition in the ACT for women’s football. The season was cancelled in September, with a points per match formula was applied to award Canberra Croatia as the Premiers.[5]

2022 Women's Charity Shield
editThe annual ACT Charity Shield was contested to kick off the 2022 Capital Football season. Money raised from the event goes towards a nominated charity, which in 2021 was Fortem Australia.[6] Canberra Croatia and Belconnen United contested the Shield in 2021. The matchup was a replay of the 2020 NPLW grand final.
