My name is Michael Russell and I would describe myself as a freelance commentator, critic and writer about "web craft".
I have been involved in various Joomla-related communities since 2008; whether those contributions will be remembered as significant or not will be for history to judge.
In a nutshell, my career in Information Technology spans over 40 years, nearly all of that working in various Australian Government departments and agencies. For the last 15 years of that time, I had a keen interest in developing intranet sites and this naturally evolved into the Internet space. My experience covered most activities in the IT field: systems analysis and design, programming, testing, project management, customer relationship management, knowledge management—you name it and I probably had something to do with it (or managed teams of people who had the subject-matter skills). I retired from the workforce in January 2007 and, if I thought I was busy when I was working, I'm been busier now than ever—mostly busy having a great time! When I'm not thinking about world events, Australian politics or making sure I'm not far away from coffee, I try to help around the house with the usual handy-person chores and amateur home renovations.

If you think I’m wrong then say, “I think you’re wrong.” If you say “You’re wrong!”, how do you know?
