== Miklós Spányi
Miklós Spányi (full name: Miklos Mikael Spanyi) is an early music specialist and player of historical keyboard instruments of Hungarian origin and of Finnish citizenship. He was born in 1962 in Budapest, lived between 1990-2012 in Finland and lives at the moment in Germany.
Studies Miklós Spányi studied piano, composition, organ and harpsichord at the Béla Bartók Conservatory and the Ferenc Liszt Music Academy in Budapest with István Fekete Györ and Sándor Szokolay (composition), Annamária Krause (piano) Ferenc Gergely (organ) and János Sebestyén (harpsichord). Later on he studied at the Royal Flemish Conservatory (Koninklijk Vlaams Muziekconservatorium) in Antwerp with Jos van Immerseel and at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in München with Hedwig Bilgram.

Teacher's activities Miklós Spányi became docent of the Oulu Conservatory in Finland in 1990 which position he held until 2012. During this period he also had teaching periods at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. Since 2012 he has been docent of three music universities: Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Mannheim, Liszt Academy in Budapest and Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (Conservatorium van Amsterdam) in Amsterdam.
Instruments Miklós Spányi is active playing, teaching and performing on five keyboard instruments: organ, harpsichord, clavichord, fortepiano and tangent piano (Tangentenflügel).
Ensembles
Since the late 1980’s Miklós Spányi has been artistic director of the early music ensemble Concerto Armonico Budapest, originally founded with co-director and first violinist Péter Szüts. In Finland Miklós Spányi was several years long artistic director of the early music ensemble Ensemble OpusX. With theses two ensembles he has recorded Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach’s complete keyboard concertos on 20 cd’s for BIS Records. Master classes Miklós Spányi has given numerous master classes around Europe. In 2023 he founded the Free Academy for Historical Keyboard Instruments in Neustadt an der Weinsraße in Germany. One of the achievements of the Academy are the Schöntal Master Classes: weekend masterclasses on historical keyboard instruments, organised 2-3 times a year.
Concerts Miklós Spányi has given concerts in most Europeran countries as well as in the USA. In his concerts he has been using been recording C. P. E. Bach’s Complete Solo Keyboard Music for BIS Records (hitherto 40 cd’s released).
