Ayyavadi, also known as Aivar padi, is a village near Thirunageswaram and it is located approximately 8 km from Kumbakonam. One of the three famousPrathyangira temple is located here.The name Ayyavadi was originated from the root word Aivar(means five) padi(place to stay). It is believed that the Pandavas stayed in this place. Thus the name Aivar padi came in to existance.
