Chef Jim Burke (b. ?) has worked in the culinary arts since his teenage years, working in the kitchens of numerous restaurants in the Philadelphia area before opening James with his wife Kristina. The restaurant has earned him accolades and lead to his invitation to participate in the 2010 Bocuse D'or USA Finals. More recently, Burke developed a menu for Max Brenner's Philadelphia outpost.

Early Career

edit

Burke began his career in fine dining in high school, washing dishes at Myrna's in Jenkintown, PA.

James

edit

Burke borrows a doctrine of Italian cooking that values fresh ingredients and simple recipes that allows the flavors of those ingredients to flourish. In 2008 James was named one of Food & Wine Magazine's best new chefs[1].

Side Projects

edit

When Kevin Gillespie, finalist on Bravo's Top Chef, dropped out of the US Bocuse D'or competition, Burke was nominated to take his place[2]. He was the only restaurateur in the running.
