About Me

edit

I love all things rock and roll. Some of my favorite bands include Badflower, From Ashes To New, Papa Roach, Rise Against, and Sum 41. My favorite thing in the world is going to concerts and music festivals. I have seen 49 bands live (some more than once) mostly in the last year or so. I also enjoy attending the Aftershock Festival. It is a very wonderful experience being in a large group of people who all love the same thing you do. One thing I love about music is it brings people together. When you are in a group of like-minded individuals, it does not matter what race you are or what you believe in, the music brings everyone together. [1]

My Wikipedia Interests

edit

I mainly use Wikipedia to learn about all of my favorite bands/artists. I do not plan on editing pages very often. I will make edits occasionally for a class I am currently enrolled in. Unless assigned, I do not plan on ever making a Wikipedia page from scratch. I also enjoy reading Wikipedia pages on movies and series that I have watched.

Article Evaluation

edit

Introduction

edit

I have been a big fan of the band Badflower since I first saw them open for Shinedown in July of 2019. This band is a bit of an acquired taste to put it lightly. They sing about lots of heavy subjects including, but not limited to suicide, drugs, and their political views. They are not afraid to step out of the box. I visited the Badflower article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: citations, missing information, and the photos they chose to include."

Citations

edit

While I was reading through the bands page, I noticed there were many facts that did not have any citations. There are many dates that are included that are not common knowledge that should have a citation. The facts that do have citations, are not as current as they could be. The most recent citation in from August of 2021.

Missing Information

edit

The article ends at the release of their second studio album This Is How The World Ends but there have been some pretty note worthy events that have occurred since then. One of these noteworthy events is the entirety of their tour titled This Is How The World Ends with headlining shows all over the United States. On April 1st they started the second leg of the tour titled This Is How The World Continues.

Photos

edit

There are two photos of the band included in this page. One photo is from 2016 and the other is from 2014. There should be some up to date photos of the band included. They have all gown up quite a bit and do not look the same as they did six and eight years ago.

Conclusion

edit

Overall, I think the page is alright. There are definitely sections that could use some love and attention but the important information is there. If someone just spent forty-five minutes updating some of the photos and new information about the band, it would be a great page.
