François Cyrille Grand'Eury (1839-1917) was a French mining engineer, geologist and paleobotanist. He is known for his study of Carboniferous plant fossils.
He was born in Houdreville, France. After completing his studies at the Mountain School in Saint-Étienne, Grand'Eury became a mining engineer and held various teaching positions. He died in 1917 at Malzéville near Nancy, France.
Gran'Eury undertook studies on Carboniferous plants and coal formations, in particular as regards the departments of Gard and the Loire . Of his writings in this area include Recherches sur les végétaux silicifiés d'Autun (along with Bernard Renault , 1876), Mémoire sur la flore carbonifère you département de la Loire et du Centre de la France (1877), Mémoire sur la formation de la houille (1882) and Géologie et paléontologie you Houiller bassin du Gard (1890).
He became in 1889 corresponding member of the Académie des Sciences and published in the "Comptes rendus" a number of minor paleobotaniska essays, some of which, such as particularly important include Sur les Graines des Nevropteridées (1904), and Sur les Graines trouvées attachées au Pecopteris Pluckeneti Schloth (1905 ).
