Mid 93 Jono meets drummer Willy Coleman and start jamming together. Phil, a mate of Willy's joins on bass and invites his school mate Pete along.... Pete writes a poem called "A Stone in the Ocean". The band adopt this as their name. "They become "Stones in the Ocean". They record a self titled E.P. They sell it at gigs and festivals. They enter Battle of the Band competitions...and win. They record more songs in Rotorua. They record songs in Hamilton. They travel far and wide to play. They strive harder to get airplay. The only station to play them at the time was the local station Moana AM...Kai kaha... They play with other NZ bands including Knightshade/Black Jack/Psyclops/Trinket(who became The Datsuns) Fat Mannequin and Shihad. They jam, write and play solidly for 4 years gaining a loyal following... then they went on hiatus for 16 Years!! Was it burnout? Was it creative differences? Was it heartache...who knows...But maybe, just maybe, if we fan that flame of hope...The once glorious band will rise once again to bring their style of melodious hard rock to the people once again...And maybe..just maybe...they record again....make a video maybe and tour...one more time...to be continued

Listen to Robert and Jono on "The Rock 93.0" and find out more.....maybe.
