Suraindran Kamalakanan was born on 19 November 1973 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He grew up in Malaysia before moving to Finland in 2006. He is a Finnish citizen and is based in Kuopio, Finland. Suraindran Kamalakanan has a background in Finance and Accounting from Stamford College Malaysia as well as Diploma in Information Technology from Binary Business School. He is currently pursuing his MBA in Fraud and Risk Management at Salford University, Manchester U.K.


Suraindran has more than 20 years of Finance and Corporate Insurance international experience in Malaysia, United Kingdom and Finland, he was formerly an expert with Nokia Corporation Treasury Team in Finland for 6 years specializing in Risk Financing and Corporate Insurance with direct dealings with London Market. He has a deep exposure Technology Risk Management Programmes and he does have clear understanding of Nokia's Risk Management Portfolio on All Class Risks. After leaving Nokia, He got involved with Politics and supported the Former Finnish Prime Minister, Alexander Stubb briefly in a Political and Communication Campaign. He then moved on to U.K. serving the Banking,Technology and Telecommunication sector on Cyber Risk Security, Data Back Up Security and Business Continuity. Suraindran is now back embarking on his political career and currently a Political Candidate for the 2021 Municipal Elections representing the Swedish Party of Finland of the city of Kuopio, Finland.
