Room & Board is an American furniture and home furnishings company based in Golden Valley, Minnesota. Room & Board has 700 employees and operates about 10 stores in California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Minnesota, and New York.[1]

Room & Board sells 80% American-made furniture. The company partners with small, family-owned companies who create sofas, chairs, and tables and office, bedroom, and outdoor furniture.[2]

John Gabbert founded the company in 1980.[1] Offerings through a print catalog and website, Shop From Home is the fastest-growing segment of Room & Board's business.[1] Hoover's lists Euromarket, IKEA and Pier 1 Imports as competitors.[1]

Room & Board's products are sometimes featured in The New York Times.[3] Most recently, throw pillows were part of a makeover of a bachelor's apartment. Also in 2010, House Beautiful magazine gave away a velvet chair.[4][5] "It's so nice," said Nichole Rallis, an opera singer and student of music who found the Room & Board item near Astor Place in Manhattan.[5]
