Julieta de Godoy Ladeira
editJulieta de Godoy Ladeira (1935 - 1997) was a Brazilian was a writer and publicist. She taught at the Higher School of Advertising and Marketing. From her functions in the area, the book "Criação de Propaganda" emerged[1]. As a writer, she composed novels, short stories, kids and teens literature and, together with her husband and writer Osman Lins, conceived literary projects and wrote the book "La Paz existe?" She has received several awards, including the Jabuti Award for Best Book of Tales for her work "Passe férias em Nassau". Godoy Ladeira's texts for kids and teens always deal with themes such as citizenship and ecology, revealing his concern to awaken the reader's interest in communities problems[2].
Career
editGodoy Ladeira began her literary career in 1962 with a short story book called Passe férias em Nassau (Spend holidays in Nassau). The following year she won the Jabuti Awards. She also published novels, essays and anthologies.
Personal Life
editHer father, a Portuguese who loved to read, made her read aloud excerpts from books written by Camilo Castelo Branco and Alexandre Herculano. Her mother, a lover of poetry, was responsible for her first readings of Brazilian poets. At 11 years old, she wrote and directed at the school where she studied a theatre play. She was married to the writer Osman Lins.
