Status explanations
edit- Online: I am on Wikipedia, either reading or editing; anything you need will be immediately responded to.
- Around: I have Wikipedia open in a browser tab, but I am doing something else on the internet. I will frequently check the Wikipedia tab, so there should be no delay if you need something. My phone beeps when someone posts on my talk page, so if you want my attention, post there; you will receive an immediate response.
- Busy: I have Wikipedia open in a browser tab, but I am doing something else on my computer. I could be in Microsoft Word, or studying online. I will check the Wikipedia tab occasionally, but there may be some delay if you need something. My phone beeps when someone posts on my talk page, so if you want my attention, post there; you will receive an immediate response, unless I am too busy.
- Sleeping: I have shut down my computer, and gone to bed. Anything you need will have to wait until the morning.
- Offline: I have shut down my computer. I may have gone out, or be doing other things. My phone beeps when someone posts on my talk page, so if you want my attention, post there; you should receive a fairly quick response.
Also, note that sometimes I forget to update my status. If my status is 'online', 'around', or 'busy', yet I have not edited for a few hours, I have gone to sleep or offline. Likewise, if my status is 'sleeping' or 'offline', yet I have edited recently, I am now 'online', 'around', or 'busy'. If you want to be certain of my status, ping me on my talk page.
