The Unmarried Father

The Unmarried Father started out as a Facebook page founded by Ryan Powell the former state lead of the Tennessee Fathers' Rights Movement.

The mission of The Unmarried Father is to advocate to allow fathers who had children out of wedlock to have equal rights to a mother who had a child out of wedlock, to give support and tools for fathers to overcome the emotional obstacles that many fathers face when being alienated from their children.

In The United States over 40% of children are born out of wedlock. The majority of the states Children have zero legal rights to a father, even if he signed the birth certificate and the acknowledgment of paternity. The only way a child will have rights to a father is if the mother allows those rights, but can always take those rights away when she wants, or when A father establishes paternity in front of a judge. Which requires a father to spend thousands of dollars to establish his right to be a father to his own blood.

Since Ryan formed The Unmarried Father he has added many other fathers to the organization from Tennessee, Texas, Georgia, Arkansas, Idaho, and even Canada.

Paul Propst (Texas) has been a leader in helping the organization grow and has now taken control of the organization.
