Taminophile is an opera blogger. The mission of the blog Taminophile was originally to feature singers who in many cases are only remembered by hard core opera afficionados today, who deserve a much wider audience. Today's young singers and opera fans might not know of Risë Stevens or Norman Treigle or Virginia Zeani or Nicola Rossi-Lemeni. And they should. Singers like Joan Sutherland and Maria Callas don't need such efforts to remain in the public's memory. Leyla Gencer and Victoria de los Angeles and Georges Thill, not so much.
The blog now features reviews of performances and recordings and the occasional profile of a current singer.
Taminophile himself is a writer, board member and occasional advisor to one of Manhattan's small opera companies, and a former singer.
And he also has a day job.
