Tanjstaffl is intended as a humorous mashup of the terms TANJ and TANSTAAFL.

I believe that I am the first person to use this mashup as an Internet handle.

It is intended to describe the combined zeitgeist and angst in feeling the contradictions of Wittgenstein, Descartes and Locke (or was it Hobbes) while reading science fiction on an empty stomach -- which is why I left off an A when I created this account. Sigh.
