Hi there! I'm Tanya Ott, a longtime public radio journalist and podcaster. I've reported for NPR, Marketplace, and multiple radio stations including Georgia Public Broadcasting, WBHM-FM, WUFT-FM, WHYY's The Pulse, and Colorado Public Radio. I also host a business podcast for Deloitte Insights and make history podcasts for the U.S. Civil Rights Trail and others.
I teach journalism at Mercer University and specialize in audio storytelling and production, data journalism, and media entrepreneurship. When I'm not teaching or making content, I conduct research on the spread of misinformation and disinformation online [1][2], podcasting[3], diversity in the radio industry[4] and other topics that fall under the broad category of media sociology.
