I am a fairly new participant to the Wikipedia project, and will endeavor to write on topics which come from my personal passions and familiarity. So far, I have essentially limited myself to writing on hiking and climbing in the Teton Range and very minor edits in other articles; most of which dealing with mountaineering or adventure racing.
While I have lived in the southeast my entire life, and most of that time in Florida, I have spent summers in the Rockie Mountain West since my early childhood. I owe a great debt to one Bob Fuller, and old rancher from the Copper Mountain range of Wyoming who invited my family into his life and cowboy lifestyle. Fuller died around five years ago in his late eighties, but still managed to live my own father by over twelve years. He was an authentic homestead cowboy, and his kind are slowly dwindling away. Fuller was my gateway to the Old West, and is missed terribly. I visited Fuller the day after I summited Grand Teton the first time, and I don't think he quite believed me when I told him about it.
It isn't easy being a climber and mountaineer and at the same time live in Florida. While I have not bagged as many peaks as someone who lives out there year-round, I am still proud of my accomplishments, but will never be more than a recreational climber. I have summited Grand Teton, Middle Teton, and Teewinot Mountain. I have also climbed more "sport" style routes in the area like Cube Point and Symmetry Spire. Last summer I climbed fairly extensively in the Estes Park Colorado area, and also summited Long's Peak. Not too bad for a flatlander.
More recently, I have been training for local adventure races with the ultimate goal of competing in a expedition length race within the next few years.
As a fellow of many interests, I also practice and train in Historical European Martial Arts and also play the commander of a company of Landsknecht at a local Renaissance Festival.
Oh yeah, I am also an attorney, but really feel that I am defined better by my interests than my 9-5 job..
