Have Gun, Will Travel is an American old-time radio Western. It was broadcast on CBS from November 23, 1958, until November 27, 1960.[1] In contrast to the pattern that most dual-medium programs followed, this one began on television and then moved to radio.[2]
Format
editThe main character of Have Gun, Will Travel was Paladin (no additional name was used in the program).[3] Paladin was a college-educated veteran of the Civil War. After the war, he settled in the Hotel Carlton in San Francisco and maintained a cultured lifestyle by hiring himself out to perform "perilous tasks that others would not or could not handle."[2]
