The 2024 Chili Bowl Nationals was the 38th running of Chili Bowl Nationals, held at the Tulsa Expo Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, from January 7th to 13th, 2024.

Format

Entrants are divided into 5 preliminary night events, which would determine their starting race and position in the final feature night.

Preliminary night

Each preliminary night are essentially their own mini-event with the following format.

Heat races

For each night, drivers are drawn into heat races of 7-10 cars per heat, with random starting position. Drivers then earn passing points based on the result as follows:

Position gained or lost are based on comparison between starting position and finishing position.

Top 40 in passing points across all heats would advance to qualifying races, while the rest would go to one of 2 C-Feature races.

Qualifying race

40 drivers are split into 4 races of 10 cars, based on heat race result with top 24 reversed (top 6 of each race). After the races, top 16 in combined points between heat race and qualifying race would advance to A-Main, while the 24 remaining drivers would go to one of 2 B-Feature races.

Feature races

Feature races are run in stepladder format as follows:

• C-Feature: Drivers not advancing to qualifying race are split into 2 races. Top 4 each race would advance to B-Feature.
• B-Feature: 2 races of 16 drivers each. Top 4 each race would advance to A-Feature.
• A-Feature: Single race of 24 drivers.

Finishing position in these feature races would determine drivers' starting race and position in final feature night

Top 2 from each preliminary night (10 drivers total) are advancing straight to A-Main race, with their line-up determined by a stepladder shootout proceeding as follows:

• 10 drivers draw a starting number: 1-5 for Preliminary Night Winners, 6-10 for runners-up.
• Two drivers would have a qualifying session at a time, starting from number 9 and 10.
• Winner of the session would advance to next session joined by next lowest number, while the loser have their grid set. Repeat for all 10 drivers.

Main races are stepladder races formatted as follows:
