Takato Yonemoto (米本 学仁, yonemoto takato, born March 9, 1979) is a Japanese actor, best known for his role as Basho, one of the main character of 47Ronin.
Biography
editTakato was born in Sendai, Japan and raised in Osaka. One day, he was looking at the inhumane international news, he became keenly aware of the difficulty of having "compassion for strangers and the imagination that is the source of it", and he was interested in making movies that give him a great influence to think about such problems in the world. After living in Kyoto till he finished his university, Takato moved to the United States and was based in Los Angeles since then.
One day at a Japanese food court in Santa Monica, when Takato was just eating ramen with a Japanese comedian called Nakayamakinikun, Takato was asked by a movie casting person, "Are you not interested in acting?" and he was just interested in having such a experience. The casting director of the "47 Ronin" liked his performance and casted him right after his audition. Takato suddenly made his Hollywood debut without any experience as an actor. Co-starring with Keanu Reeves in "47 Ronin", he learnt the depth of acting that made him think "I wanted to continue to be an actor." Since then, he has been a full-fledged actor in the United States and has been active in a wide range of fields such as movies, dramas, music videos, and commercials.
Takato co-starred with Nicolas Cage in "Prisoners of the Ghostland". Also Takato played the coordinator role in Netflix "The Naked Director" Season 1 Episode 6.
