Dale Leonard Johnson (born 3 May 1985) is an English footballer currently playing for Altrincham in the Conference National.

He started his career at Stockport based club Woodley Sports, before joining Hyde United in February 2004. He joined Droylsden on loan towards the end of the 2007–08 season where he scored one goal. On his return to Hyde, he left to join Altrincham. After two years with Altrincham he left to re-join Hyde in the Conference North in September 2010. After an approach from Droylsden was turned down by Hyde, he was released in order to re-join Altrincham.

Hyde United

Born in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, he started his career with Woodley Sports.[3] In February 2004, he joined Northern Premier League outfit Hyde United.[3] He made his tigers debut against Kidsgrove Athletic, scoring a header which proved to be the winning goal.[4] After finishing the 2003–04 season with six goals in fourteen appearences,[5] he went on to score twenty-two goals in his second season, meaning he was the club's second top goal-scorer that season four goals behind Neil Tolson.[6] He started the 2005–06 season strongly, scoring in the Northern Premier League Shield in a 2–1 win over Matlock Town.[7] By the end of the season he had scored seventeen in all competitions and was Hyde's top goalscorer.[8] He scored his 50th goal for the club the following season as part of a hat-trick against Moor Green.[9] He finished the 2006–07 season as the clubs second top-goalscorer with sixteen, behind player of the season Gareth Seddon who scored thirty-seven.[10] In the later part of the 2007–08 season he was allowed to go out on loan to local rivals Droylsden,[3].

Altrincham

In 2008, after he left Hyde he joined Altrincham.[3] He made his debut on 9 August as part of a 2–1 win over Woking.[11] It took him until his eighth game for the club to score his first goal which came in a 3–1 win over Salisbury City.[12] After two troubled seasons at the club with Johnson finding it hard to get himself on the scoresheet, he was released in September 2010.[3]

Return to Hyde and back to Altrincham

Just a couple of days after his release from Altrincham, he re-joined Hyde,[13] making his second debut for the club against Corby Town coming on as a 75th minute substitute and scoring the winning goal just a minute later.[14] He was released in March 2011,[15] in order to join up with Altrincham for the second time.[16] He made his second Altrincham debut coming on asca second-half substitute against Tamworth and scoring Altrincham's second goal.[17]
