Sonic the Hedgehog Megamix is a video game modification ("mod") of the 1991 platform video game Sonic the Hedgehog, created by the community group Team Megamix. It known for being one of the most extensive mods of the game, featuring multiple playable characters, new levels, and music.
Development began as a simple palette swap and layout ROM hack of Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Genesis. However, as it progressed, Sonic Megamix became much more elaborate, eventually being transitioned to the Sega CD.
