Reasons for becoming a Member of Wikipedia
editIn order to edit a few articles concerning topics I know something about as a certainty; especially if incorrect information is contained in them, and also ask questions in, or add relevant comments to, discussion pages where I might be able to make some helpful contributions.
Areas of Expertise
editPC Data Recovery and related topics, such as: MBR (Master Boot Record), Volume Boot Records (VBR), Partitions, boot processes, etc. Some of my other GNU contributions have included editing the documentation for and testing of the free program: TestDisk for recovering lost partitions and files. There are many other contributors to this project; others are welcome to help with its development too.
Note: Since I became employed again in 2007, I've had little time for my web sites or editing Wikipedia articles. My knowledge of Computer Forensics (some call it Forensic Computing) has broadened since then as I've had occasion to work with forensic investigators in the field.
Since retiring, but still reading and linking to pages at Wikipedia, I edit errors and fix dead links wherever I happen to find them.
TO DO (Hopefully)
editI had been hoping to add more content to the MBR article and split off the material pertaining to the PC Partition Table into its own article, but other competent authors already did so when my interests turned to other topics.
