History
editThe Branch School was founded by Helen Shaner Hankins in 1977. The original classes served early childhood. Kindergarten and elementary were added as the school grew. A middle school with 5th and 6th graders were added in 2009, 7th grade in 2010, and 8th grade in 2011.
Early Childhood (3's & 4's)
editChildren (3 years old) learn in the Greenhouse program that is literature-based and theme-based. Children (4 years old) attend the Pre-K program that sets the foundation for math, reading readiness, social studies, music, art, and language.
Elementary
editStudents (K-4th) learn in a project-based integrated learning environment that complements textbook lesson and reinforce comprehension, multidisciplinary skills and creative problem-solving.
Middle School
edit5th and 8th grade students attend middle school with an emphasis (2011) on science, technology, engineering, math and includes a comprehensive language arts, social studies, Spanish, fine arts, and enrichment activities that support the curriculum. The goal is prepare students for 21st century challenges.
