editIntroduction
editSo, you want to revert Vandalism, Eh? Well In this guide I will give you some tips and tricks (that's right tricks into reverting vandalism!) Read on to find out more!
Step 1/Phase 1
edit- You should start off very simply like this....
- 1. Move your Computer mouse to the left hand corner of the Wikipedia page under the logo
- 2. Scroll down to ---> Interaction----->Recent Changes\
- Click on Recent Changes----> Then Click on the filter changes, then select "Likely have Problems"
- Go to any edit you wish (Usually the ones at the top) Then click on "Diff" then look at the edit, if the edit looks and is vandalism then click "Undo" (Note if the edit has already been undone, you may proceed to the next one by clicking the back button on your web browser) After you click "Undo" Look over what you did and click "Publish Changes"
Warn the Vandal
editGo th This page then select the appropriate warning, Right click "Copy" then go back to the article on which you reverted the vandalism (Do this by clicking the link to your contributions then clicking "Diff" to the edit you just made, then click on the previous editor's "talk" link and then create the warning by typing
(Example below) Level 1 Warning
==January 2019==
{{subst:uw-vandalism1|[[Page name]]}} ~~~~
)
It should then look something like this;
January 2019
editHello, I'm Thegooduser. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to WP:TWW have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help Desk. Thanks. Thegooduser Let's Chat 🍁 22:18, 27 December 2018 (UTC)
(Level 1 Warning shown above)
That's it! Have fun reverting Vandalism!
Most Importantly remember to deny recognition to the Vandals
If the vandals vandalize past their 4th Warning, you may then report them Here (Instructions on how to do so can be found also in this link.)
While looking at a diff, you will see something extra, like in the image shown. Clicking Rollback AGF
I will summarize the link above, Rollback is for OBVIOUS VANDALISM ONLY, using rollback is no difference than Twinkle, however in order to use Huggle, you must have rollback rights.
Please read This page for more Information. Tip: Huggle is a very advanced tool. If you happen to make a mistake, Immediately press the ESC button, and hopefully your changes won't be saved. I would recommend you to start manually for 2 months, then use Twinkle for about 3-4 months, then when you get the hang of it, Slowly switch to Huggle "Don't use any of the keyboard shortcuts when you are new to huggle" Some great words of Wisdom Oshwah had told me.
