OKM (Ortungstechnik Krauß & Müller) is a German manufacturer of geophysical instruments and metal detectors used for geophysical surveys. OKM was founded in 2001 by Andreas Krauß who had invented new methods in ground surveying.
OKM has been the first company which introduced multi-sensor geophysical phase readers into the world market of geophysical intruments.
History
editBefore Andreas Krauß established the comapny OKM he was inventing treasure hunter detectors with his firm I-F-E.
In the year 1999 he met investor Ingolf Müller which believed in the success of this modern technology and both founded Ortungstechnik Krauß & Müller GbR (OKM GbR) to produce also for archeologists worldwide.
OKM GmbH was founded in 2002 and belongs to the leading manufacturers of geophysical measuring instruments in todays market. Before the formation of OKM Ortungstechnik GmbH new standards in the branch of visual depth had already been created by OKM Ortungstechnik GbR.
