The short version of this nomination is that Bridgeplayer is a hard-working, contentious editor who is regularly helpful and exercises good judgement on a consistent basis at WP:RFD and elsewhere.
To provide more detail, I first really became aware of Bridgeplayer as potential admin material through his extensive work at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion, where he regularly gives well reasoned recommendations based on the right combination of policies and guidelines underpinned by a firm belief in finding the outcome that will best benefit the readers and editors of the encyclopaedia. When the need arises, as over the past year or so it has on quite a few occasions, Bridgeplayer has been more than willing to step up to the plate to perform a non-admin closure. I don't recall a single NAC closure that I have had cause to disagree with or complain about - indeed it was just over a week ago that his closure at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2011 October 23#Wikipedia:DGUIDE tipped the balance firmly towards me awarding him a barnstar for his redirect work (his second) and offering him this admin nomination.
The third barnstar, on his userpage, leads me into the next paragraph of the nomination - Bridgeplayer's article space work. While mostly not glamorous editing, his edits are productive and helpful and he has two "did you knows" and two good articles to his credit (and 2007 Bernard Matthews H5N1 outbreak he took all the way from creation). Although not the most prolific article content creator that this project will ever see, he has a large number of redirect creations in his résumé, all important for helping readers to find the articles that we have and to avoid the creation of duplicates. The history of interactions on his talk page highlight, also, this focus on helping other people where he can, and for doing his best even when he cannot.
WP:RFD is one of the less sexy areas of project space work on Wikipedia, and this low profile means that backlogs are a frequent occurrence. Since Rossami stopped regularly editing at the end of April, Bridgeplayer has been consistently doing a great deal to help, stepping into the vacuum. Giving him the keys to the janitorial cupboard will allow him to step fully up to the plate and take a share of the admin load onto his shoulders (although hopefully he will manage to mangle fewer metaphors while doing so than I've managed with this nomination). In the traditional Wikipedia way, the reward for a job well done is more work, but Bridgeplayer is one of those people who is keen to do it - so let's give him the tools that will enable him to be an even greater benefit to the project than he currently is.
