The Family Business Network International is a not-for-profit organization for family business consisting of more than 3,400 members from 45 countries.[1] The Family Business Network International (FBN-I) is one of the largest family business organizations in the world and works to connect family business leaders and share experiences and ideas on succession, management, research and more. FBN-I holds an annual summit in which members gather to learn new ideas and listen to world-renowned speakers. FBN-I is headquartered on the IMD campus in Lausanne, Switzerland. The 21st FBN International Summit will be held in Chicago, Illinois from September 30 to October 2, 2010.[2] Information on the program and joining the summit is found on the summit website.

The Family Business Network International was established in 1990 to provide a place for family owned businesses to interact and learn from each other. FBN-I offers research and training, a large family business library, information on succession, taxes, ownership strategies and more. FBN-I celebrated it's 20th anniversary with a summit in Amsterdam, The Netherlands in October of 2009. Since it's inception, FBN-I has grown to 25 chapters around the world:[1]

Main Focus

FBN International provides it's members with networking and training events throughout the year. The events are hosted by the chapters and an annual summit event is hosted each year by FBN-I. FBN-I is a learning center for family businesses; providing research articles, case studies, and publications. FBN-I focuses on the next generation, offering information on succession and providing networking and informational events for future family business leaders. The annual summit is host to the IMD-Lombard Odier Global Family Business Award, which is presented to a top family business each year.
