1st Earl of Leicester (doomsday book).

  • In 1120 Robert de Beaumont 2nd Earl of leicester inherited the manor from his father,after coming of age.
  • In 1168 Robert de Beaumont 3rd Earl of Leicester inherited the manor from his father.

The Beaumonts held the cheif Lordship of Bosworth until 1461 when the estates were forfeited to the Crown. The Lords of the manor in tenant during this period were the Harcourts.
