Pluggd FM Is a specilist online radio station created in the fall of 2010. It specialises in playing music from new and unsigned artists from all over the UK. it was created by two college graduates wanting to pursue a life long dream of running a radio station, while also providing a low cost opportunity for small bands and groups to play their music on the radio.
Pluggd FM has adopted an ' advert free ' system. The contributions from the bands and artists covers the cost of running the station, therefore there is no need to commercialise the station with adverts.
As quoted by the founder of Pluggd FM in an interview' If you think about it the whole purpose of the station is to promote the music of new bands and artists. When you are listening to the music you like you don't want to hear adverts every few tracks, which quite frankly are usually about something you don't even care about, you're listening for the music '.
