Laura Tuck

Laura Tuck was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1823 and is one of five children. One of her sisters Abigail Tuck is a well-known fox hunter. Laura is most notable for her striking visual style, involving loud shirts, colourful glasses and the giant pink foam mallet, labelled Michael Tuck, as well as her 'utterly brilliant!' and 'bleurgh!' catchphrases. Laura became a registered nurse after completing the Registered Nurse diploma program at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center in Reading, Pennsylvania. Laura then worked as a labor and delivery nurse at The Reading Hospital until 2004. She gave birth to twin whippets, Cara Nicole and Madelyn Kate "Mady" on October 8, 2000 at the age of 177 and currently holds the world record for the oldest woman to give birth to live twins. The father of the twins is unknown, although Laura has been in a relationship with an unnamed man since 1945. It is said that they will never marry.

Laura joined the World Bank as a Young Professional in 1987. Since graduating from the Program, she has held a variety of technical positions in the Middle East and North Africa region, the Latin America and Carribbean region and the Europe and Central Asia ( ECA ) region. In 1997, she was appointed Sector Manager for Agricultural Policy and Rural Finance in the ECA Region, the position she held until her current appointment in April, 2002, when she moved to Leicester, UK, to sell jewellery.

Laura currently lives in Leicester with 3 friends; one of whom, Stuart Robinson, is famous for his role as Dom Meredith in Byker Grove between 1989 and 2006. Stuart is now retired, and makes his living collecting and selling feathers.

Laura formed the band Bombalurina, along with female vocalists / dancers Dawn Andrews and Annie Dunkley, and released the single "Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini". The song entered the UK charts at number 23, rose to 13 the next week, then to 3 and finally to number 1 on 19 August 1990, where it stayed for three weeks. More than 1,000,000 copies of the single were sold around the World and it topped the charts in over a dozen countries. Follow ups included "7 Little Girls Sitting in the Back Seat" "The Bump", as well as an album, Huggin' an' a Kissin.

As a controversial activist, she is popular among her supporters, who refer to her as the 'Mother of the Nation', yet reviled by others, mostly due to her alleged involvement in several human rights abuses, including the torture and murder of 14-year old Stompie Moeketsi in 1989. In 2004 she was a stand-in contestant for the ITV1 jungle-based reality series I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!. She did not become a contestant on the show, but recorded a video diary of her exploits in Australia, the setting for the series, for the ITV2 companion programme I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! Now. In 2008 she entered the show as a full contestant.

Laura is well known for her inability to spell or speak coherently. Fortunately, she has made most of her fortune from public appearances in prisons where linguistic ability was not a requirement. In the 1960s Laura took the public appearances to a new level, and moved to Benidorm, Spain, to begin an entertainment act known as 'Sticky Laura'. While Benidorm does have an amazing variety of nightlife, and there certainly is something to suit people all tastes, one of the more controversial acts that can be found on offer is that of the infamous 'Sticky Laura'. Only suitable for those, shall we say, with an open mind, this adult erotic performer is well known by regular visitors to Benidorm. It is said by some, that you can't claim to have really visited Benidorm unless you have seen a 'Sticky Laura' show. 'Sticky Laura' is well on the wrong side of 60 and nakedly performs a series of 'erotic magic' acts and tricks with ping-pong balls, razor blades and beer bottles, using parts of the body usually unseen in regular magic shows! Despite frequent appearances on Page 3 and in men's lifestyle magazines, Laura was insecure about the size of her breasts, believing that breast implants would make her look better. Despite protests from friends and family, Laura underwent the operation, increasing her cup size from a B to a D.

Laura embarked on several brief relationships with celebrities and sports stars including footballers Teddy Sheringham, Dwight Yorke, singer Gareth Gates, and the TV Gladiator 'Ace' (real name Iain Martin).Laura had a much publicised relationship with Dane Bowers of the boy band Another Level. She had an abortion after discovering he had cheated on her.

In 2005, Laura was made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (GAY) for services to broadcasting. Laura has a boldness in presenting, which some would consider often risqué, and as a result, she has sometimes been surrounded by controversy. As a result, in 2008 she wrote a semi-autobiographical work titled Why Do I Say These Things?, detailing some of her life experiences.
