Early Life

edit

Edward W. Lucke III was born July 12, 1987 in Eastern Germany. Two years before the destruction of the Berlin wall.[1] He was born to Dianna L. Davis and Ed Lucke Jr.[2] who were both stationed over seas while serving out their assignments for the United States Air Force. His family, now including younger brother Brian B. Lucke, moved from Europe to the United States in the early 1990s to Marshall, Michigan. Edward studied at Marshall High School, excelling in JV football and JV tennis as a junior before quitting sports completely during his senior year to pursue other interests. A decision some insiders close to the Marshall High School athletic program called "Detrimental" to their chances to compete at the top level for the 2005-06 athletic seasons.

Edward was recruited heavily by many major universities nation wide in 2005 and 2006. By Christmas time his senior year, Edward had narrowed his college choices down to three schools: University of Illinois, The Ohio State University, and Michigan State University. After failing to qualify academically to the University of Illinois, Edward chose the second furthest school from Marshall, and went with Ohio State. This decision was said to be heavily influenced by fellow incoming recruits Greg Oden, Mike Conley Jr., and Beanie Wells.

College Life

edit

In college, Edward lived what some have called, "the single greatest college career one could ever hope to achieve". His studies included business, photography, sociology, biology, calculus, table tennis, computer programing, among many other subjects as well.
