Faded Cadence are an English Indie folk band from Birmingham, England. The band consists of Matt Carter (vocals, keys), Chris Jackson (guitar), Kaila Whyte (guitar, percussion), and Torz Hill (violin).

History

Early Years and A Soundtrack For You (2008-2009)

The band was created originally as a side project between friends Matt Carter and Chris Jackson. Aiming to bring acoustic music back to their hometown, the two recorded a rough album entitled 'A Soundtrack For You' in Matt's front room[1]; the release was then left on trains and buses around Birmingham to gain exposure, linking in with the albums title. This, and their young age of just 15, lead to them being featured on Tom Robinson's BBC 6 show in June 2009, and gave an increase in their online fanbase[2]. After exposure from the album, the two decided to make the band a full time project and hired Kaila Whyte and Torz Hill to add to the bands sound.

The band has been compared to Sigur Rós[3] and their music has been described as having 'an emotional and professional maturity that belies their young age'[4].

First Singles (2009-2010)

Towards the end of 2009, Faded Cadence began to write songs as a four-piece. They recorded their first singles, 'Fireworks' and 'Hit The Road', funding their recording from
