Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted, IMHO, because:

1. It provides readers with an easier route to find out about the target.
2. The person targeted is - whilst not yet wp:notable - distinguished by (a) being the club's incumbent Young Player of the Year, (b) though still a youngster, he is considered good enough to play for the first team in their main league (selected for a spot on the subs bench last weekend), and (c) he is the only player here not yet to have his own article, following in the footsteps of famous internationals such as Ryan Giggs & Danny Wellbeck.
3. There are many established precedents where people with an unusual surname have a redirect set up just in their surname, so that they can be found with minimal key-strokes, e.g. one da Vinci. And either way, of course, if a reader knew and typed in the person's full name, they would still be directed by an entry appearing in the resulting Search list.
4. The redirect itself has been selected or at least viewed 40 times since the redirect was created, which might imply it's already proving useful to some readers.
