Hi,
Originally from Solihull, I'm a Mathematics graduate from Warwick University currently resident in Portsmouth. I work at The Portsmouth Grammar School as an assistant for the Portsmouth Festivities, and at Portsmouth Cathedral as a choral scholar. Last year I was the Societies Officer at Warwick Students' Union, and follow student issues closely.
My interests include:
- Music (mainly classical, but also other genres), especially choral music, plainsong, film music (especially music by John Williams and Hans Zimmer), pre-Renaissance and Renaissance music and 18th century Mozartian Opera)
- Theatre, particularly the works of Shakespeare, Tom Stoppard, Alan Bennett and Michael Frayn
- Some sports, cycling, cricket, snooker, sailing Lasers and badminton
- Organic chemistry
- Bridge - I play duplicate regularly.
I've been an editor for about 5 years now. I generally copy-edit pages, which is the bit about editing I enjoy the most. I have recently joined the Guild of Copy Editors and am taking part in the Copy editing project going on in March
I do occasionally more significantly edit a page (normally one in its infancy or a stub), or try to give an orphan page more "parents", but only if I've got some time on my hands.
