I am a history writer, with a masters degree in history from Macquarie University. I was editor of the Daily Telegraph's history page and its Classmate graphic educational feature for nearly twenty years. I have since moved on from the newspaper, I left in August 2021, and I am looking forward to contributing some of my knowledge about history to Wikipedia (to which I am also an occasional donor).
My first project was to add some of the history and more recent story of the paper I worked for, but it has all been erased because it was assumed that I was being paid by the Telegraph to write it. I have not received a cent from the Telegraph for anything I have written, but it was a fair assumption to make. I am unemployed at the moment and I have a lot of time on my hands in between applying for jobs. Hopefully at least the history section of what I added will be reinstated, if the text still exists, otherwise I have lost about ten hours of research and writing. 19 October 2021.
